As in previous years, Lands Design proudly participated in the 24th Annual International Conference on Information Technologies in Landscape Architecture, the Digital Landscape Architecture (DLA) Conference. It was held at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences on their Dessau campus from May 24th to 27th. As a sponsor of the event, we had the opportunity to present two workshops about our last achievements for landscape architecture: BIM workflow and Environmental analysis of a landscape project on May 24th.
The conference started with an awe-inspiring opening lecture at the renowned Bauhaus Dessau, Dr. Barbara Steiner, the newly appointed director of the Bauhaus Foundation Dessau, illuminated the audience with her presentation titled “From the Bauhaus to The New European Bauhaus.” This captivating discourse delved into the concept of the “New European Bauhaus” and its profound role in envisioning future living spaces in harmony with the principles of the European Green Deal. The New European Bauhaus places utmost importance on the seamless fusion of aesthetics, sustainability, and vitality, epitomized by the three pillars: Beautiful, Sustainable, and Filled with Life.
The conference, centered around the theme of “Future Resilient Landscapes,” presented an extensive and diverse program featuring over 80 contributions and engaging discussions all published in JoDLA 8-2023. These sessions provided an invaluable platform for participants to delve into pioneering concepts and strategies aimed at crafting landscapes that possess adaptability, sustainability, and resilience. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with academics and industry experts, exchange knowledge, and explore the forefront of landscape architecture during this enriching experience.
As an active sponsor and participant, our team of McNeel Europe and Asuni’s representatives, had the privilege of engaging with fellow attendees, exchanging insights, and sharing our expertise in the field of landscape architecture. It was a valuable experience to connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to the vibrant discourse surrounding the creation of future resilient landscapes. Moreover, we had the opportunity to get familiar with several research projects that are applying workflows combined of Rhino, Lands Design and Grasshopper.
